Top 10 Hottest Indie Games

PAX Prime (Penny Arcade Expo August 27) is rapidly approaching. With nearly a month to go, the gamers at Central Nerd Network (CN2) are chomping at the bit in anticipation of 5 days of glorious gaming. Part of that excitement has spawned from the recent announcement of the PAX 10.

Each year a group of 50 industry experts select the 10 best Indie games to be featured at the convention. The celebrated games chosen are known as the PAX 10. The PAX experts select these games mainly based on two attributes: gameplay and overall fun-factor.  With these two crucial factors in mind, it is difficult to argue with their selections. There is one attribute of these games that the PAX experts did not take into account and it could be the most important one of all: price.

The cost of a “big league” game does not usually cross the mind of a dedicated gamer when making a purchase. By the time the highly anticipated game is released, he or she has already pre-ordered the game or made up their minds about purchasing it months ago. On the other hand, when deciding whether or not to roll the dice on an Indie game, price is a very important factor. Here is a quick price guide for the 10 hottest Indie Games on the market (or soon to be):

About fattybunter

Modern PC Gamer who loves retro console games. I love building PC's, gaming with friends, being outside and drinking beer. Story behind my picture... I had a bunch of classic games living in the basement of my parents until recently. I powered up my NES and popped in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. My game saves were ALL still there! The picture is funny because you can see how much further I got than my neighbor Jon and little sister Beth.
